DUPR Algorithms & Rating AnalyticsReference 02

What is the half-life degradation factor in DUPR ratings?

DUPR weights recent matches more heavily than older results, with older games losing half their statistical influence every several months.

The detail

To prevent inactive players from sitting on stale ratings, DUPR applies an exponential decay function to historical match data. Matches played within the last 30 days exert maximum influence on a player's rating curve. As matches age past the half-life window, their mathematical weight in the algorithm decays exponentially, ensuring ratings reflect current competitive form.
