How many timeouts are permitted in a standard match, and how do medical timeouts work?

Each team is allotted two 1-minute standard timeouts per 11-point game, plus one 15-minute medical timeout per player per match for verified injuries.

The detail

Under Rule 10.A, each team in an 11-point or 15-point game receives two standard 60-second timeouts. In games played to 21 (such as MLP matches), teams typically receive three timeouts. Timeouts may only be called when the ball is dead, before the server has initiated the 10-second service countdown. Rule 10.B governs medical timeouts: a player who suffers an acute non-preexisting injury or medical emergency on court may request up to 15 minutes of assessment and medical treatment. If the player cannot resume play after 15 minutes, the match is forfeited. Blood rule protocols dictate immediate stoppage until all bleeding is stopped and cleaned.
